hi i have a grundfoss pump that is new and i have replaced partially blocked cold feed pipe from header tank to pump i did not replace it all
when the pump runs on speed one it sounds like gentle waves on the beach (sort of swishing sound ) but on speed two it sounds worse and on speed three you can hear it all over the house.
i have tried bleeding the system and pump but the noise continues

any advice would be appreciated

how do you check the supply is adequate the pipe i removed was practically clear at the cut is there away of checking without cutting more out

Where did you replace the pipe? It will be blocked at the T where it joins the rest of the heating system. Was this what you cut out?

i replaced 3 metres of pipe from the tee that is connected to the air seperater the tee was quite clogged up so this was easily cleaned out but there is a further 4 metres of this pipe mounted horizonatally before it drops vertically through the ceiling into the airing cupboard that houses the pump

thanks chris

If you have an AIRJEC I would expect it to be in the airing cupboard near the pump.

In any case the blockage would be where the cold feed meets the circulating system water.

It is not unusual for the air seperator to be full of cr#p and restricting the flow a fault that is often missed
