Noisy Switchmaster 900 central timer

Hi, I have a Switchmaster 900 central heating & hot water timer, it works ok apart from an annoying load sort of ticking noise you can hear it pretty much all over house (that is without any other background noises). Is there any help or advise anyone can give me PLEASE.

Probably not the answer you wanted to hear, but replace it with a new digital programmer
