Hello,

Woundering if i can get some advice.

This morning a friend and myself decided to replace the Radiator Valve's in my 3 bedroom house. ( i wish i had never started) we messed something up as we now have no hot water and radiators dont work.

I'll start by giving you an idea of what i have.

4 radiators upstairs.
3 radiators downstairs.
Valiant Combination Boiler (around 6 years old, its a Turbo Max)

Anyway, we powered off the Boilder and emptied the system by connecting a hose to the radiator with the empting plug, opened it up and all the water rush out.

We then replaced the 2 downstairs radiators and both valves on each.

Then from the boiler we opened the water valve and filled it up till the presure reached 1.5bar, then went and bleeded all the rads again, then pumped more water into the system until it became 1.5bar.

Powered up the boiler and it powers up, turn the hot water tap on, i can see the Boiler starting up but then it shuts down and the 0/1 power light just flash's.

i hope some one can shed some light on this issue.

and i'tell you what, i wont be messing with these things again.

Thanks all

Could just be an airlock, or perhaps pump has stuck. Have you tried turning the ch on via the programmer? This will circulate the water and hopefully push any air locks out into the rads for further bleeding.

You couls also try temporarily over pressurising system to about 2.5 bar to help push air out, then drain off excess water to drop pressure back to around 1.2 bar.

thanks,

i have tried turning the little black knob inside the boiler and it did let out a little air, also pumped the system up to 2.5 and no luck,

thanks

Have you checked the pump by undoing the large silver screw in the center of the pump and turning the impellor with a flat bladed screwdriver?
