Many boilers have certain procedures to be followed after draining!

Its very risky for a DIYer to do something like that.

Apart from anything else draining the system will lose the inhibitor.

At least its only a very cheap budget boiler!

I would imagine it will settle down again once all the air has shifted out the system.
Your scenario is no different to a pump failure and boilers usually survive that.
