What should be the minimum thickness of Oak door linings when hanging heavy oak doors?

The local supplier can supply 22mm but we have been advised that 28mm should be the minimum together with double plugging.

I can not that it is going to make much difference,but I would recamend using 3 good quality 4" hinges that will take at least a no.10 course threaded screw,with the thread going right to the head
