Hi all

Just had our lovely oak worktop fitted in our kitchen. The guys have done a very good job considering there isn't a straight line anywhere in our old cottage!

Looking at finishing it off with oak upstands....
A couple of questions. Considering I know there isn't a 90 degree corner in the house, how should I go about the internal corners? I'm thinking that scribing the ends in so they sit flush when butted up rather than attempting a mitre cut?

I will have 3 external corners to do. Again, best way of getting them neat?

Secondly, best method of fixing. Fortunately the worktop has been fitted dead level and the walls in good condition and flat. I am a bit worried about the odd spot that might leave a gap between the wall and the upstand. So a strong adhesive? And I'm planning on siliconing the underside of the upstands as we fit to help with keeping moisture out.

Thanks all

buy a digital angle gauge and cut the correct angles.
or experiment with a chop saw with some softwood scraps to get your angles right.
