Office; one switch and four lamps

Hi,

I presumed that a single light switch should feed a number of lamps in a star configuration.
I recently replaced the 4 fittings in a single room to find that each fitting daisy-chains to the next. Is this OK?

yes, its quite often the "norm" but what are you doing changing light fittings in an office if you are not insured?
