Hello all,
This is my first post and sadly it has to be a call for help after a major blunder!
I recently to paint a feature wall in my bedroom (previously plain white) using Farrow & Ball emulsion paint. I'd read on the website that they recommend starting with a dark undercoat before applying the colour (a dark blue). Trying to be thrifty, I thought to myself I could use a lesser brand undercoat and save my pennies for the F&B paint for finishing. Unfortunately, I absentmindedly bought a Dulux Oil-based primer, intended for wood & metal (https://www.homebase.co.uk/dulux-trade-undercoat-dark-grey-1l_p503218).
On the advice of F&B, I *think* my only option here is to take a fine sandpaper to the wall and try and bring down the Oil primer before applying a proper emulsion primer and top coat. I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice to the contrary - I did wonder if it's possible to get an oil-based top coat designed for indoors that'd stick (not sure such thing exists?).
Grateful for your suggestions & support!
