What would cause old tar to run down the inside of an old chimmo into the fire place.
The chimmo is 300 years old and has an old ingal nook fire place.
The stone is very porous and the joints look like they need repointing, is there any product out there that can be sprayed over the stone once repointing has been done to stop water penatrating it.
