Hello! I have had our old storage heaters removed and now have central heating. Behind the storage heater in our front room is an old fireplace. What can I do with this? I would like to make it a bit of a feature but on a budget. When we have the money I will be removing tiles and having chimney breast re plastered but until then I want to make it look a little prettier! It had a foil board over it I assume to stop drafts so need to know what to do to stop drafts also! I have attached a pic! Any ideas or knowledge with old fireplaces would be gratefully received!!

Waste of time doing anything till you have the money .board it up and add ventilation grill.

Unfortunately, it's not the prettiest of fireplaces but as a feature you could buy a fire basket and fill with chopped logs. Maybe even put some red low voltage Christmas lights under the logs for a warming effect.
