Old plaster

Just removed all paper from bedroom walls, plaster below is very dusty and looks porous with some loose areas.

Can walls be patched up and then sealed with PVA coat or is it a strip and re-plaster job.

Sounds like your plasters blown pal.If that is the case then i'm afraid all the dead plaster has to be removed and a new backing coat n skim applied.
