Hi all

I'm looking to upgrade the mixer valve as shown ....as you can see in the photo there seems to be a wire which I'm guessing is pressure related and kicks in the pump.....modern ones don't seem to have this option....if I were to simply replace with a modern valve how would the pump come on....do I have to install an inline pressure switch of some kind ???......or can anyone tell what make etc. this one is

Thanks for help[/img]

Looks like one of the early power showers the sort of thing British Gas was fitting in the 70's I doubt you will get a direct replacement but try these people usually very good and helpful.

As above, contact showerdoctor. It looks like your pipes are too close together for a simple replacement so you will have to remove some tiles and change the pipework.

You can change the pump to a negative head (I am assuming you dont have enough flow to start the pump) or you could put in a pullcord momentery switch to start the pump you have now.

That's an early supajet mixer works on a reed switch below the mixer.
As said you can convert to a neg head pump, the reed switch was common to fail on these and alot was converted.

Believe it or not you can still buy the mixer.
