Old time clock for electric panel heaters

Hello.
I still have the old time clock for previous electric panel heating system. I have removed all panels and installed gas central heating so it is no longer required. Can I remove it and box off the wires? It still makes a ticking noise.

Possibly not depending on how incomptetent the person who wired up the boiler is, someone good wouldn't have left the old controls live. It's possible things won't work correctly if you disconnect the wiring to the old timeclock. What do you have in the way of new boiler controls?
