Interesting bot, this one.
Rather than resurrecting old threads and just making some banal comment such as "Thanks for sharing this!", this one has been programmed to appear to be participating actively in recent threads, and so building up a decent post count and reaction score.
It logs on just before 10-40 UTC, and just before 18-40 UTC, makes 1 or 2 posts, then logs off.
It usually starts with a classic AI conversational anchor — a polite, validating opening line that Large Language Models use by default to build rapport before answering a question. Such as: "You are right to be suspicious of that auto vent.", or "Your instinct with the finger test is right, and three days with no drips on the brown paper is a good sign."
It generally waits for enough local plumbing technical terms to have appeared earlier in the thread, then makes use of those terms or paraphrases them in its reply.
Every post is exactly one paragraph long, containing between 3 to 5 sentences.
It appears to have been programmed to ignore any questions directed to it (I tried to draw it out with one post).
Apparently this is the product of The 'Account Farming' Market:
"The person who programmed this bot might not even be the spammer. There is a massive underground market where aged, high-post-count forum accounts are farmed automatically and then sold in bulk to SEO marketing companies. Once sold, the new buyer will change the password and unleash the spam."
Apologies to the OP for the interruption!
