On a hot day in 2009 Aasia Bibi a Christian woman , brought some water for her fellow workers on a farm.

Prior to handing the water over she took a sip of it some Muslim woman became angry that
Christian woman had drunk from the same container.

They demanded that she convert to Islam. She refused.

5 days later a mob accused her of "Blasphemy"

She was convicted and sentenced to death

Later this month the supreme court is to hear her appeal

In january of this year the US state dept. cited this blasphemy law as one of the reasons why it put Pakistan on a watch list of countries accused of

Severe violations of religious freedoms.

Often the law is used to punish rivals in personal feuds

Even if the courts find some one innocent , mob rule takes over.

In at least one case police have had to keep an aquitted man in custody , fearing riots if he is freed.

Pakistan is one of the most ferocious enforcers of the blasphemy laws.

When I noted 2009, I wasn't meaning Transam was dragging up the past, but that the poor woman has already been in jail for eight years for drinking muslim water.

The stupidity of these people is beyond belief and something should be done about them.

Apart from that your version of the story is completely untrue, as usual.
She was convicted of blasphemy. (No I do not condone that conviction before you or your sidekick claim that I do. )
Anyone who cares to read the DM story (the 2009 version, the 2013 version, the 2015 version, or any other versions) will see through your (probably intentional) misconstruing the story.

Reality:

she was convicted of insulting Mohammed during a row with Muslim co-workers

same reference.

If anyone bothers to read the original story and compares it to subsequent stories, one will realise that it is crusade to get a woman released. and the story is given a new twist each time.
She is now suffering from health problems. In the earlier versions she was placed (thrown) in prison for her own protection.

At least 20 people charged with blasphemy in Pakistan have been murdered, some by their own prison guards, and many more have gone into hiding.

Only her accusers and a local Imam insisted she convert to Islam.

AChristian woman facing execution for blasphemy in Pakistan has been granted her final chance to appeal next week, after the country’s supreme court set a date for Asia Bibi’s last hearing.
In a case that has gained international infamy, the mother-of-five from rural Punjab was convicted in 2010 for defaming the Prophet Mohammad during an argument with a group of Muslim women over a bowl of water. She has been on death row ever since.
Appeals at lower courts have all failed, before the country's top court temporarily suspended her execution in July 2015.
