Only left 25mm gap above PIR

I have no such membrane - just tiles and battens and I'm going to fill the existing 75mm depth with 75mm PIR and thus no gap. I'll also seal everything up with foam and foil tape. Correct ? or should I leave a gap ?
Will the insulation be touching the battens going horizontally across the roof? As long as there's a small gap is ok as freddy mentions above.
A buildup without a membrane wouldn't be allowed on new work now and insulating it might channel any small water penetration where it shouldn't go. So be careful of that.
Another option would be to counter batten before fitting the horizontal battens and put the membrane below the counter battens, but that would only be if you're changing the roof covering now
