Livid right now and here for a rant. Ordered OSB3 T&G board from a popular online sourcing agent for my flat roof roofing requirements.

They delivered P5 chipboard. 4 hours trying to get it sorted and I get told "you checked 'accept equivalent product' and that's their equivalent"

Yes, because the reduced strength, reduced bearing load, reduced span ratings and reduced adhesion levels are 'equivalent' - oh, and of cause, the reduced cost.... Wonder why that swap was made.

Hopefully they can de-fook their fook-up before the weekend or I'm on the war path.

Anyone else received similar treatment from their suppliers?

Be official. Write to them as a letter before action and tell them they have 7 days to deliver the correct specification material and collect this, or issue a full refund, or you will open a money claim online (costs £50 which they pay if they lose - they will) and they can argue that chip is equivalent to OSB in court.

Equivalent means the same spec from perhaps a different manufacturer, not a completely different product that happens to be a sheet material.

To be honest though, if you looked at an OSB board and a chipboard from 100 yards, they'll look the same...
WTF?!?!

New bloke in the customer service department who doesn't know his terminology?
Average Joe won't know the difference, OSB is literally made from wood chips, I'm sure we've had questions on here about chipboard "is this asbestos?"
