I cannot open outlook express 6,any ideas.It parcially opens then freezes

If you don't provide an full description of your system, installed o/s and apps. it's unlikely anyone can help. Try your question in Google. Lot's of stuff there.

You would be better with M/S Outlook which you can download from the MS site for free, it is on the Office disc also.
Perhaps your best thing to do initially would be to re-load Express again you will find this on the MS site as below.
Outlook also has a repair facility in the help section.

When you have done this load Spybot, Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster and Hi-Jack this. These can all be found and dowloaded at Major Geeks and CEXX safely I have used them for years. Run these facilities weekly and you will find they solve most problems.

You may also wish to run your O/S again.

You would be better with M/S Outlook

Why? Outlook confuses a lot of people, express is much simpler to use.
I wouldnt have thought spyware would have stopped OE from opening, neither would I reccomend reinstalling the o/s just for one program not opening. But as mentioned, more details wouldnt go amiss, have you checked event log?

Yup, I agree but far nore basic, ideal I suppose for those whom just dabble with PC's

I suppose its a case of personal choice, I use outlook for work, but outlook express for personal mail - no reason for me to use outlook for personal mail, express is more than adequate.

I do know what you mean, if it is for straightforward emails Express is just fine I initially kept going back to Express but several of Outlook features wipe the floor with Express so now it is all I use, as you say it is a case of personal choice.
