Oven heating while switched off.

I have an AEG fan oven and occasionally it warms up slightly while it is switched off. The fan does not start and it does not get very hot before switching off and cooling down again. The power indicator light on the control knob for the oven comes on.
The oven works ok when I do turn it on.
Any ideas where the fault might be?
