The overflow pipe from the large cold water tank in the loft is dripping but only when the central heating is on. Any ideas what I need to do please?

No definately from water tank, the overflow from the small tank runs a completely way.
The central heating time is a Randall 103 old clockwork type. The central heating and hot water are not seperate, so we have to have both on or nothing on.

I'm intrigued as to how the central heating being on affected the water level in the CWS
Moreover, what did the make of the timer have to do with it all?Thanks will give that a try later and let you know the outcome.
Heating on, water in cylinder gets hot, expands, raises level in the tank feeding it.
I'm also intrigued about the timer question.
