About to start painting walls, ceilings and woodwork in the house and planiing on going for the following paints:

Ceilings - Dulux Matt Emulsion (White)
Walls - Dulux Endurance Durable (Coloured)
Woodwork/Doors - Dulux Endurance Tough Satin (White)

Is the above going to give me a good quality finish and be easy to work with? Also what's the difference between the Dulux paints available at B&Q, etc. and Dulux trade. Would the Dulux trade paints be better?

They will give you a good finish...providing you have done the preparation right.

Difference between the two paints..

DIY shops sell 'retail' paint...aimed at novices, it has different flow qualities to enable the user to spread it more evenly without too much difficulty...this is also called 'false body'...when you open a can its like jelly, you can even turn it upsdie down and it wont pour out...people assume the paint is thick and therefore good gear...but when you stir it it turns very thin...because you have broken down the false body

I it also very low odour because its aimed at domestic enviroments.

In order for paint to have these qualities they have to take something out...the pigment, the part of the paint that does the covering.

Good pro decorators (and growler  )* dont need these qualities..they need a paint that will cover well and dry quickly..they are skilled enough to be able to apply most paints so they dont need false bodies.

Yes... all true, however there's a strange quirk in paint products and that's sometimes, the diy'er is onto something faster than the pro' , and the pro's, will often reject these paints because they're "set in there ways" (not like meself) ;)
