Painting a Gas Fire Cover White

I have a Valor Gas Fire with a detachable black surround. The surround is metal and seems to be powder coated or epoxy or some kind of ultr-permanent baked-in black finish.

Now that the room has been redecorated, I don't like the black colour but can't afford a new fire at present, so I was wondering if I can paint the detachable cover white?

I am not going to paint the fire itself, but simply the outside of the cover. Still, that cover will get very hot and so regular paint will not stand up. I notice that some companies sell BBQ Stove Paint and Heat Resistant Paint etc but the only colours I've found are Black and Pewter tones, whereas I want white. E.g.

1. Will radiator paint work or will it give off dangerous fumes or present a fire hazard when the heat is on? I assume a gas fire runs hotter than a radiator?

I know it is possible to paint fires white, because the same company, Valor, sells fires with white covers.

PS - am posting this in the Heating section too as I don't know which section applies best, and obviously the experts there will know about toxic fume issues from gas fires etc, whereas you guys will know about paint, and I assume painters are not browsing the heating forum and vice versa.

Try some Hycote or similar automotive engine/exhaust paint in brush or aerosol , I use it a lot on my bike engines , several colours to choose from
