Painting a partly plastered ceiling

It was repaired within a few days with new plasterboard and plastered. It's been almost a year since it happened but I've only managed to get round to painting it.

I presume I just mist coat the plastered area.

But how do i make sure the whole ceiling has an even colour?

I would mist coat the new plaster and build the coats up to a similar colour depth as the rest of ceiling then paint the whole ceiling once or twice as needed.

I’m assuming the ceiling is white.

I think it's a cream colour as the coving is white and there's a difference. I'll approach it in the same way though.
