Painting again over skirting boards

Last year, I stripped all the paint (mostly layers of gloss) from all the woodwork in my stair/hallway area including the hand rail, skirting boards etc.

This left a really bare, red looking wood surface. Being the real novice that I am, I didn't know about or apply any sort of primer or anything and carried on and just painted my final satin finished wood paint on the wood. I think I gave it 2 coats. Hoever, a year later, that red colour is now starting to show through the white colour, which I know is entirely my fault.

However, can someone please advise me as to how I can rectify this and what I would need to do in order to give it that clean, satin finish again i.e would I need to sand anything down, apply a primer and then give it another coat? Or, will I just now have to put another final coat of paint over it and see what happens? The final paint that I am going to be using is Dulux Once coat Satinwood. I have used this on new wood previously, after applying primer to great effect, and wish I did this to the stair/hallway area

Give it a rub down and a coat of Zinsser 123 primer. then apply two coats of the satinwood again.
