Hi, I need to paint rough sandstone corner stones as the paint is peeling. They have be previously painted about 15 years ago with grey oil undercoat and a gloss topcoat. Not Ideal as I wanted to paint it with water based sandex masonry paint. I have tried burning the paint off though it doesn't seem to come off. I have sanded them down with some of the surface going down to the sand stone, some stays as paint. As surface is a bit rough not sanding down smoothly and leaving little peelings.
Question Is. what should I paint it with. Oil undercoat and gloss, OR sandex masonry.
Johnson weatherguard says for wood and metal. Can I use this on masonry.
Maybe thinking of using a water based primer first.
Any suggestions?[/b]
