Painting coving

I've used plaster cornice so far in my house, and I've used a primer/undercoat first then satinwood on top, for a nice semi-gloss type of finish

However I'm using paper covered plaster coving in my kitchen

I want to paint it with Satinwood again, but what base coat would I use?

You could emulsion it or undercoat it, then use the satinwood no problems.
