Hi all,
we, have a front door with a letterbox, door number , key surround and door edging that are brass ( a bit corroded and ratty looking)
when I the door I would like to make the furniture black.
would i be able to paint this black?
i was hoping to rub it down, prime it with some Zinsser BIN then use some smoth hammerite ( or psiible some outside matt black)

I cant really afford to buy all new furniture ( and cant to seem half of it in black) so am hoping this would work.
any ideas or advice would be appreciated

thanks

Zinnser bin wont do i dont think. As the handles etc are metal, use a metal etch primer and the spray them with an automotive spray paint.. You wont need hammerite really.

thanks for that
I thought zinnser bin stuck to metal
the only reason i was thinking of that and the hammerite is that i have those in the garage already

Zinnser will stick to metal but its not meant for that really. Better with an etch primer from an auto shop.
