We've just put in some new fence panels which have come "dipped".
I'm unsure what dipped means - we intend to paint them anyway as they're a bright orange colour at the moment.
I'm just wondering what kind of weather protection the dipping will have given them and how urgent it is that we paint them.
Also can they be painted while wet? The rain has started today and knowing England it might be a while before it stops :)
Many thanks for your advice.

Hi, Most of the dipping done on fence panels is water based so as to protect the plants etc. Any water based fence paint is suitable, but its nota good idea to paint the panel if it is wet because as the panel dries out it will probably bring the paint off with it. The dipping will protect them for a year or two before they really need doing again.
