Painting on some walls, paper on others - format?

I am about to decorate a square study, thinking of paper on some walls and paint on others - is there a sort of format for what works here, such as 2 walls paper on opposite sides, or paper round window, paint on others?

Hope I'm making myself clear here! window is on opposite wall to door btw.

I would use whatever is darker on the two side walls and the lighter on the window and door wall.

Although I would only paper one wall not two.

Do yourself a favour and set aside an afternoon to visit some showhomes.......you will get ideas you would never think of in a million years. The one thing you will learn is that there aint no barriers to what can be done.
