Hi, I would like to change colour of my white gloss rail to Satin teak wood effect. I did sand the rail, applied Leyland acrylic primer, allowed it to dry and then applied Rustin satin teak stain. It resulted in uneven dark and light effect of stain which I am not liking it. I am thinking of again putting a primer and revert back to gloss white or black if the stain does not work. Any suggestions on how I can achieve wood effect. Appreciate it you can provide process, product name and raw material required to do this.

Are you saying you want to achieve a wood grain finnish or just the colour teak.

The rail is made of wood but is painted white gloss. I would like to change its colour to teak.

Take your tin of stain to a paint wholesaler and ask them to mix you some paint the same colour.
