Panel heaters blown

Hello,

I have two wall-mounted 2kW panel heaters in my apartment. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. They are both fed from a 16-amp radial circuit, each with their own fused spur (13A). There is nothing else on the 16A circuit.

I have a split load consumer unit with two RCCBs for earth leakage protection.

A few days ago, when both heaters were calling for heat (they have a digital thermostat and 24/7 timer) out of nowhere, the MCB tripped.

However, now I'm confused because when I switched the MCB back on and energised the heaters, no heat came from them.

They were powered on, the displays were lit up and they were calling for heat but not generating any.

How can this be possible that BOTH heaters have blown at the same time. I still need to test if the heating elements have failed, or if it's something else.

Can someone point out if I'm missing something please?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks Matt

The make and model might help. Both the heaters may just need to be reset to factory settings if you don't have instructions try google. If you don't know the make and model try posting a few pics of one of them.
