Good afternoon,

We live in a terraced house and we plan to build a porch, less than 3sqm and keeping the existing door, so no planning permission or Building Reg is needed.

There is a single file brick wall (150cm height) between our house and next door house, which I assume it is the party wall. We want to build the porch as a completely separate entity, not touching in any way the party wall - it will be a new single file brick wall near the party wall (with Celotex on the inside) - do we need still to inform the next door neigbhbours ?

We share a concrete canopy for both houses, above the dors but we will not touch anything on their side. Moreover, as the ground is sloping down from the the entry to our front garden to our front door, we will physically not dig a foundation (as to affect the footing of the party wall) and in fact we need to put the footing for the porch above the ground in front of our front door and it will be 18cm of concrete on top of a sub-base which already exists (for the existing patio bricks laid at the moment)

Any advice if we have anything to do with Party wall would be great.

Thanks
