Existing 1950's concrete drive is tatty but fine.
I now park 2 cars side by side leaving inches to play with.

By it's nature, reversing in tends to run over a bit of grass at the front (open plan so no wall/fence) and I have to walk over wet grass to get to the front door
There's about 5M of driveway/grass

I intend to lay about 20 slabs of 450mm each to create a walkway /extension to the drive so I can have a path that i won't damage if I drive on some of it.

I was going to dig out a bit of lawn, lay some MOT1 and whack it down. Then "slab layer" and some 38mm thick marshal slabs which aren't pretty but work.
I could save £40 if I used a bit of tree trunk to pound such a small space but is it worth it?

Any comments on materials or strength?

I’d use a 50mm slab on a full 50mm of sand/cement. See how you go with compacting the mot.

Put the MOT down and drive over it for a few weeks.
