I have a patio awning which I would like to motorise. If this is not possible then I will consider buying a new one, however, it is fitted on a bungalow and would need to fix on the existing oak bearers. I have attached pictures of each end. If anyone can tell me what make it is I would appreciate this.

How hard is it do do manually?
MYbe to get an idea, connect a cordless drill to the winder to see if it's possible
I gather that a lo t of caravan users now use drills to get the feet up and down

Ideally you need a low speed high torque motor

Thanks for your reply and suggestions. It does take quite an effort to wind in and as I am getting on in years it is a bit of a problem. I have tried it with my heavy duty SDS drill and it just does not move it.
