So, I've patched up some sections of my patio grouting with a 3:1 damp mix of sand and concrete that I pressed into the joints.
I've got two issues.
1) unlike the older stuff it seems to get soaked in the rain and stay soaked. It looked great when it was dry.
2) When I dug up another section of grouting done a week earlier (not shown here) it was just loose wet sand. Not rock solid at all and damp. Which doesn't seem good at all, although it was solid on top.
I just don't want to put all the work in and find out I've gone down the wrong track.
