I am having a patio built this will be using buff coloured York Stone. I have noticed in some brocheres that the pointing done on this type of paving is sometimes a light creamy sort of colour and looks really nice. How can this be acheived? Is it to do with type of sand you use or cement. Also has anyone used the ready mixed pointing you can get in tubs, I know this is quite expensive but if it works maybe its worth getting. I have also seen cement dye, is this what would be mixed with pointing mix to acheive correct colour of pointing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i used cement colouring years ago and was very happy with results, you will get a different finish depending on where you get your sand and cement from so make sure that you get don't change cement or sand manufacturer half way through, the best way if possible is to mix one load of pointing and point the whole lot from it
