Alright

Had a quick search but did not find what I require. I am putting up patterned wallpaper, but the pattern is not on the edge of the paper so it does not have to match. I was wondering I know its up to me what I do but should the pattern line up

Thanks to anyone who replys I know it quite a silly one

Use a level horizontally and line it up between the patterns...be very careful with chimney breasts..if the main part of the pattern is off centre the breast wall will look unbalanced or to use the technical trade term...****ed!

Surely it only needs to be the width of a roll?
Well it depends on the pattern. i.e. say the paper is a "non-matching" alternative "match", therefore needing an long spirit level.
