Hi all,

I eventually will be re-rendering my property once I have an extension done, roof and soffits replaced as then and only then does it make sense to get the rendering done.

Anyways I have an unsightly bit at the front of the house.

A combination of age, weather, deteriorated paint coat and my wife hitting it with my sons buggy has resulted in this unsightly section.

I wish to patch repair it as anything will look better.

How do I go about this?

Would it be better getting a pro in to do it?

Do I just need to remove loose paint and re-paint?

Should I chip back to bare brick and re-do it? Is this something I could do myself as a keen DIYer?

Regards, Gordon

That's just paint that's come off the dash is still intact

I have had a closer look and the dash is not intact and I feel best cold chiselled back to bare brick and re-done.

Is there a ready-mixed product I can buy from one of the mainstream DIY stores like B&Q / Screwfix to do this?

I would call that pretty much intact, you have lost a few chippings but, it's just not worth the effort of doing anything other than painting it.
Patching it is likely to result in a more obvious repair, for something so small it's just not worth the bother, especially if your going to be rendering the property in the future.
Just give it a lick of paint and no one will even notice.

As the guys have said, i'd leave it alone. If you start using a chisel on that, you'll regret it. I'd just "carefully" remove any loose flaky paint, trimming around it first with a Stanley knife, then give it a few coats of external paint.

Or you could chip all the paint off so it matches that patch!!!!!!!;)

You might be right Steve it would probably fly off with a "Scabble" gun on it !!!! Anyone fancy a game of "Scabble"..!!!!!
