I'm in the middle of a bathroom refurb. One of the walls and around the window we decided not to tile but to paint over the existing paint.
I had read somewhere that to decide if the existing paint is a suitable surface to paint over you should stick some tape on it and and leave for 10mins then remove to see how easy the paint comes away.
I did this and the paint came away so I set about removing it using P60 sandpaper and a scraper.
Question 1 Do I need to remove every last speck of the existing paint?
Question 2 Once I've got the majority of the paint of, what is the best way of preparing it to accept Dulux Endurance Durable and Washable Matt so that it does not peel easily?
Here is a photo of one of the walls with most of the paint (lilac?) removed.
It is a plasterboard wall with a skim coat I believe.
