Had occasion for the first time in many years to put some ordinary unleaded petrol for cleaning purposes in a translucent plastic container.

It is purple.

Is that normal nowadays?

The container previously has contained anti-freeze and diesel if that makes any difference,

I remember pink or purple petrol in the 70’s. We used to syphon it from the new cars just of the transporters. We tried it in our cars to make sure it was good enough for the new cars.
