Hi Guys,

Another minor irritation with my car - when I start up in the morning, I get into second gear & the engine becomes totally unresponsive for a few seconds, I can plant my foot down & it just stutters, then goes ok from then onwards.

I have replaced the plugs - only done 38k, otherwise runs ok*

Any ideas?

Fuel octane? I usually fill up at Waitrose.

*Still have the bizarre whine @ over 70MPH yet unsolved.

I should also add, I do get some pinking too.

Maybe I should also add 206 04 1.4 16v

For those who maybe interested in the whine:-//www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1313935#1313935

That was supposed to be a clickable link - I'll get the hang of these new fangled computers soon.

Change your driving habits. Rev the car up (1500RPM) before setting off for a minute. Then see if you have the same problem or a different one. Seems as though the choke (rich mixture) has finished to early. It drives all day ok?

Pinking shouldn't happen in a modern engine regardless. That would suggest to me a sensor playing up.
But no engine light on the dash?
Might be worth getting her plugged in?
