I am fitting a gas fire in an existing fireplace. Is it possible to use micro bore copper to run the gas from the supply to the fireplace

It depends what you mean by "supply". Do you mean the main gas supply or an existing gas supply spur for a gas fire?

B&Q sell a kit containing microbore pipe and fittings that might suit you if you have an existing spur.

If you don't have one then the only sane advice is get a registered gas fitter in.

Cobweb - Although B & Q sell a microbore kit to install a gas fire. I am pretty sure that it is illegal to do it yourself unless of course you are a corgi registered gas fitter.

Most gas fires are now fitted using microbore so you shouldn't have a problem.

Point taken. It's safer all round to assume a fitter is always the best option.
