Plasterboard around steel beam

hi guys,

I'm sure this question has been asked a few times but there have been conflicting answers. All I'm after is can I use a single sheet fire line plasterboard to wrap a steel in or does it have to be 2 layers ( staggered of course)

I've seen it done mostly with 1 single layer, but there's no reason why you couldn't use 2 staggered layers.
