hi all, just bought a new house, nasty 30 year old crumbling plaster everywhere, walls and ceilings. Only trouble is i've stripped of the majoratory of it before reading the posts here about simply plasterboarding over it, and have been coughing up black dust lumps for days to prove it :)

Now can i plasterboard straight onto the brickwork filling out the bulges with bonding compound or putting up some battons to mount the boards on, or should i just get a plasterer in to plaster straight onto the brickwork?

Any help would be really appreciated, cheers

seeing as you're probably going to have to get a plasterer in to skim the plasterboard any way, why don't you get a plasterer in and ask. They'll tell you the easiest option.

Only 30 yr old  Must`ve been a crap job originaly
