plasterboarding /skimming is this fair quote

I have got a kitchen (6m x 2m) whose ceiling is to boarded and skimmed including all 3 walls (4th wall(2m) is already tiled).

Plasterer has quoted me £1200 (inclusive of materials & insulation for ceiling). Is it average cost or over the top?

Think that depends on a few quoibles,
if al is set to go with the plasterer not needing to mess with studwork or any other prep, electrics are all nicely ready, materials can be brought in , and its a straightforwrd jo then £12.50.00 M2 should be a fair rate for board and skim. that makes this a sub £500.00 Job

needs bit of preparing/patching, knocking down previous nails in joists etc. But still the price you mentioned looks way better! (am in midlands)
