Plastered walls - Dulux Diamond Eggshell

I have just had a kitchen partially plastered. I applied the mist coat after the plaster had dried (4 days). I then applied a test pot of coloured Trade Diamond Eggshell. The paint was great to apply and looked good, the only problem is when I rub the paint with my finger a whitish chalky substance comes off.
Is this normal? Will more than one coat make any difference?

The paint costs a fortune so i want to know it's correct.
