I have opened up an old fireplace to have as a feature (for things like candles\plants - I think this is called a fireplace niche). I currently plan to install a simple frame to create a "false ceiling" in the fireplace and then install lights (LED slimline) and a vent. If I go with this plan then I will still see the lights and vent when sitting on the sofa (as they will be at eye level), which is not desirable according to OH. Logic tells me I can either recess the lights\vent or make the front\top part of the fireplace lower. In both cases I am not sure how to do a neat job? Any advice? Thanks
