hi
i have got a 2 bed semi which i am having rendered(front and back), patched up and skimmed
it is costing me £4500, well was before xmas

i have rang the plasterer today who says it will be another £500 as i have asked for two empty fireplaces to be plastered inside aswell. plus he say he only priced for the landing and not the full staircase and he has found lots of extras that he didnt price for!

i agree its a big job. there is alot of patching up to do and making good and there was some plasterboarding to do. he aslo had to hire the scaffold and get a skip in, oh and pay his two employees.

in total they should work for about 3 weeks

does anyone think £5000 is alot or is it worth it????

thanks

depends what is involved and where you are get several quotes

So lets see .... three weeks work for a gang of three at three hundred a day, pretty cheap me thinks.
That leaves how much to purchase all the materials and hire scaffold. You do the maths eh!

On the other hand three weeks for a good gang of three spreads is along time and I suspect he has told you it will take three weeks but he will be out in ten days.
Get some more quotes. No way of course to gauge fairly the extent of the job but I suspect hes trying it on!
