Plastic 1/2 cover to go onto rad brackets

Installing a flat panel rad
Previously in the accessories box they come with plastic bits that sit onto the metal radiator bracket (u shape)

This radiator doesn’t come with them

Are these essential or can I install rad on metal bracket without issues?

The plastic shims are to stop the rad from rattling/clicking on the bracket. I would normally expect to find them. Yes the rad can be fitted without them, could it click without them, possibly.
