Plastic Underground drainage pipe v's plastic Soil pipe

Hi,
could anyone explain what the difference is between the two and I'm not just talking about the colour

Why can't you use the underground stuff as a soil pipe and vice versea?


Just interested in knowing why.

I thought it may be that.

It's just the information doesn't explain why you can't use soil pipe underground or underground drain pipes above ground and I like to know these things.

Good answer, and obvious when you think about it. So what about the other side of the question: why not use grey pipe underground? Is the brown pipe stronger - or more resistant to chemical attack? Or is it just cheaper?
